In Chaandangarh, located in Shahra Taluka, the Panchmahal District Bank has distributed e-rickshaws to women from various villages of Shehra as part of the government’s Electric Vehicle Assistance Scheme. Continuing the initiative for women’s empowerment led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the esteemed MLA and Honorable Deputy Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Shri Jetha Bhai Bharwad, proudly dedicated Mercury EV Tech Tejashvi Pink Electric rickshaws to 20 women in his constituency, helping them gain financial independence.

The visionary efforts of Deputy Speaker Shri Jetha Bhai Bharwad have set an exemplary standard for Panchmahal, a region rich in history, culture, tourism, and environmental significance. This initiative serves as a remarkable model for zero carbon emissions and environmental sustainability. During the event, Jetha Bhai Bharwad encouraged women to pursue employment by driving e-rickshaws, leading to immediate job opportunities as they began transporting passengers.
These e-rickshaws have been provided by the Panchmahal District Bank under the state government’s Electric Vehicle Assistance Scheme, which offers a subsidy of Rs 48,000 to the women acquiring the e-rickshaws. The remaining loan amount will be repaid by the women through the income generated from their new employment.
