CHENNAI: City Union Bank (CUB), with a history of over 120 years, announced on Saturday that it has upheld its reputation for excellence in technology within the banking sector. On Thursday, this achievement was highlighted by winning seven awards at the recently held ‘20th Annual Technology Conference, Expo, & Citations 2024’ in Mumbai.
CUB receives awards from IBA in all seven categories for the second consecutive year. According to a top official at the private sector bank, “The IBA awards recognize the best technology providers in the banking industry, promoting competition among banks to showcase their cutting-edge innovative products, sense of purpose, and significant contributions to best practices in serving clients.
“Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) T. Rabi Sankar handed over the awards to Vijay Anandh, Executive Director of City Union Bank in the presence of his technical team.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Anandh said, ”We are thrilled to receive awards in all the 7 categories from IBA year after year. These awards are given by IBA in recognition of our Technology adoption. We are continuously launching new IT enabled products for the usage by our customers. We launched 8 new Digital products for our customers in the Global Fintech Fest 2024 held in August 2024. We will continue to innovate new IT solutions for the benefit of our customers and work in unison to get awards from IBA in all categories in the coming years also”.
City Union Bank emerged victorious in four categories: Best Digital Sales, Payments & Engagement; Best IT Risk Management; Best Fintech & Digital Payment Index (DPI) Adoption; and Best Financial Inclusion.CUB has received the Runner-up award in the Best AI & ML Adoption category.CUB has also been honored with two Special Awards for Best Technology Talent & Organization and Best Technology Bank.
