Codingal Wraps Up HPE Code Wars 2025, India’s Largest Coding Competition with Over 23,000 Student Participants

Bengaluru: Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), in partnership with Codingal, has successfully wrapped up the fifth edition of HPE CodeWars, India’s premier coding competition for students in grades 8–12. This year’s event saw an extraordinary level of participation, reinforcing its reputation as the nation’s largest coding competition at the school level.

During an intense 3-hour coding challenge, over 23,000 code submissions were assessed in real-time, with peak concurrent evaluations exceeding 700. This competition drew participants from all over India, particularly from major cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai. Furthermore, international students from more than 100 countries, including the UK, Kenya, Mauritius, Nepal, Nigeria, Singapore, and the UAE, also participated, showcasing the event’s growing global appeal.

The competition showcased remarkable young coders for their exceptional talents and problem-solving skills:

● Champion: Purbayon Sarkar (Grade 12), South Point High School, Kolkata – Awarded an HP Victus Gaming Laptop

● First Runner-Up: Jayden Jeswin Raj (Grade 12), Vels Vidyashram, Chennai – Received an HP Chromebook

● Second Runner-Up: Samik Goyal (Grade 10), DAV Public School, Patiala – Honored with an HP Series 5 FHD Monitor

The top 10 performers were also rewarded with high-quality performance mechanical gaming keyboards and mice, recognizing their dedication and prowess. On this massive success, Vivek Prakash, Co-founder, Codingal said, “Competitions like HPE CodeWars are crucial in the age of AI. They go beyond just testing coding skills; they foster critical thinking and problem-solving.
