Ahmedabad: Anant National University, in partnership with India Accelerator, hosted the inaugural Swaastha Healthcare Accelerator Demo Day. This event was created to support healthcare and related start-ups throughout India, particularly those with active or deployment-ready solutions. Launched earlier this year, the Swaastha initiative seeks to cultivate an ecosystem where visionary entrepreneurs, seasoned mentors, industry leaders, and investors unite to nurture and elevate innovative ideas. The Demo Day offered a stage for selected start-ups to present their cutting-edge solutions and connect with potential investors.
Shri M Nagarajan, IAS, the Collector and District Magistrate of Mehsana, honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Demo Day assembled a varied group of 20 investors, featuring Mr. Jatin Lal, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Piramal Pharma, along with representatives from India Accelerator, Cognoscent Ventures, ICICI Bank, IDFC, Shurup, as well as angel investors and incubation centers.
From a total of 180 applications for the Swaastha programme, eight start-ups were chosen to showcase their innovative solutions. These start-ups are dedicated to various fields, including medical-grade monitoring for maternal, fetal, and newborn health, animal-free alternatives, efforts to create an anemia-free India, transforming healthcare delivery with technology, precision tools to enhance IVF treatment, an AI-driven rehabilitation app, solutions for sleep and emotional well-being, and affordable on-demand medical equipment rental. Each start-up presented their initiatives and financial needs to potential investors.
India Accelerator has declared a significant investment of ₹53 lakh in the start-up Janitri. Furthermore, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were established with Genesis Biotech Pvt Ltd, Helyxon, and Cosmo Ecosystem Care Pvt Ltd to aid in their business development and scaling initiatives. Anant students will partner with these start-ups, offering their design expertise. The event also featured the launch of the Swaastha Healthcare Coffee Table Book.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Shri M Nagarajan, IAS, remarked, “The Swaastha Accelerator Programme is a textbook example of execution and should be replicated by others in the ecosystem.”
Dr. Anunaya Chaubey, Provost of Anant National University, stated, “All communities across the world need people who can solve problems and create jobs, and that is precisely what these start-ups represent.”

Swaastha aims to create meaningful connections among start-ups, industry experts, and clinical trial support. Since its inception, the initiative has hosted 30 mentorship sessions led by esteemed industry speakers, offering tailored guidance to the start-ups involved.
