DREAM Foundation, based in Ahmedabad, hosted a breast cancer awareness seminar at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA). The seminar’s goal was to educate women on breast cancer, including its detection and treatment.
Renowned breast cancer specialist, Dr. Nupur Patel from Divine Breast Clinic, provided essential guidance on breast cancer awareness to an audience of around 60 women. The seminar emphasized the importance of early detection, screening, and prevention.Dr. Patel highlighted that regular self-examinations and annual mammograms are crucial steps for early detection. She shared insightful information on recognizing the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer, such as unusual lumps, changes in breast shape, and skin dimpling.
Dr. Patel demonstrated how to perform a thorough self-examination to further engage the audience and provided educational pamphlets for reference. The discussion also covered lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of breast cancer, including maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and limiting alcohol consumption.
Nirav Shah, the organization’s president, emphasizes the importance of breast cancer awareness, stating, “Empowering women with knowledge is crucial to promoting health awareness.”
The seminar wrapped up with a Q&A session, allowing participants to ask questions and discuss their concerns. Dr. Patel responded to each inquiry with care, providing tailored guidance and support.
